Sometimes we put our characters through the ringer causing some crazy emotions to spiral out. The events aren’t always something we, the writers, have experienced. It can even be impossible for us to go through some of the same things, especially if it’s something that happens in a fantasy world or just a circumstance that isn’t likely to happen within the lives we lead. Still, we know our character is going through an emotional time, whether good, bad, or indifferent and we want to convey the emotions not only in an authentic way, but in a way that the audience will feel what the character is going through to draw them deeper into the story. Besides emotions, sometimes we’re looking for a different set of flaws or attributes. Maybe we’re just stuck and need something to help us figure out just what we want for our characters. That, my friends, is where Episode Thirteen comes in.

Monday 3/23/15 we have Best Selling Author Angela Ackerman joining us. She’s published a series of books devised to help with layering a character into a three dimensional person. We’ll be discussing emotions, good traits, bad traits, and other ways to make your character come to life. It’s not always easy, so hopefully Episode Thirteen will help with figuring out how to make your characters better all around.
